my mitts

more adventures in knitting! i’ve been meaning to make these mittens since i pulled the instructions out of an issue of Marty Stew Living.

i bought the yarn a couple of years ago, and i FINALLY got them started last week. the yarn is Caron’s SPA, a blend of acrylic and bamboo. the color is berry frappe.

they were relatively easy to make, though i did have a little difficulty with the thumb opening. it was my first time doing something like that. and now that i’ve found the online pattern, i see that the directions were changed slightly, and the changes make more sense than the print version. i wish i would’ve looked it up online before i started! harrumph.

the pattern calls for two 50g skeins of yarn, but i didn’t even use up a full 85g skein. so i guess i’m going to have to make up a matching hat or scarf or something.

PS: happy new year!
