i FINALLY picked up some yardage so i could make a real version of mccall’s 7646, instead of a test version.

another felicity hat!

black and periwinkle, using the leftover yarn from the other two felicity hats i made for myself. the birthday girl was SO happy to receive it, since she was coveting my hats. ;-)

yesterday, we went to the library and i popped into the library bookstore to see if there were any old books i could use for arty crafty stuff. i found two winners:

the mel bay book is old and the pages are a little brittle. perfect for any number of collage projects. and mel is a very deep, thoughtful guy. just look at his photo!

did i mention the booklet is kind of old?

and i’ve already used bits of both books in a new artbook collage.

book pages, magazine pages, colored pencil.

i have no idea what prompted me to turn a frog into this kid’s hat.

sometime this weekend, i’ll have to post the birthday girl’s gift. nothing fancy, but it is handmade.

the past week’s FOs

i finished several small projects over the past week, but one of them is a birthday gift. i’ll post that after the birthday pal has received it.

in the meantime, i finished an altoids tin collage:

tin 06 2009

magazine/catalog pages and glitter.

and then i re-purposed a small canvas (i just wasn’t happy with its previous incarnation):

painting 06 2009

4″ x 4″. acrylic paint, modeling paste, applied in multiple layers, sanded, sprayed with alcohol, etched with a chopstick, and generally beat up. the sides of the canvas have little bits painted on them, too.
