i’m back from a vacation in lovely cambria, california, and i’m recharged and ready to get back to some crafting.

it’s not that i didn’t craft while i was away – in fact, my clapotis grew by a whopping 5%. but now that i’m back, the sewing machine is calling my name.

there’s a red corduroy jacket waiting to be cut out and sewn together, and a couple pair of linen trousers are waiting in the wings as well.

and yet another ballband dishcloth, too.

and a collaged birthday card.

and so on and so forth.

i should probably get started.

would you call this color hulk-ish?

i finished another pair of pants, using that same out-of-print mccall’s pattern.

the fabric is bright light green linen with machine-embroidered flowers at the bottom hem. i didn’t do the embroidery – the fabric was already like that when i found it at my local joann store. it would be really lovely for a dress or skirt, but since i wanted a pair of pants…

yay for pockets!

they’re really comfy – and once the linen relaxes a little, they’ll be extra-sooper comfy.

the pictures really don’t do the bright color justice. let’s just say i couldn’t sneak up on any of my coworkers yesterday because the green was so loud.

and now i am one hundred

according to my wordpress stats, i have ninety-nine posts, so here’s one to make it an even hundred!

i made some pants.

it’s another (undoubtedly out-of-print) pattern that i picked up on sale who knows how long ago. since i bought a bunch of linen on sale a couple of weeks ago (specifically for making some loose lounge-y pants), i figured i would make sure this pattern worked out before i cut into the linen.

and yay! it did.

they have an elastic waistband and pockets (that’s VERY important to me – i find pocketless pants to be very odd) and they’re roomy and comfortable and just the right amount of lounge-y-ness. the pattern was pretty simple, and i got a chance to use the blind-hemming foot on my sewing machine. sweet!

now to do some lounging.
