sewing machine cozy

my old plastic sewing machine cover was getting dingy (not to mention BORING), so i whipped up a new one over the weekend.

it’s made of some blue (like a dark cadet blue) and avocado green acrylic felt i had stashed in a drawer – hence the wrinkles. how does one get wrinkles out of acrylic felt, anyway? my iron didn’t do much to it. not that it really matters, since the cover is there for my enjoyment only. i’m not out to win any design awards for it.

i took some measurements from the old cover, cut out the fabric and slapped it together in no time.

i had fun with the felt flowers, and i found a little bee button in my collection, so that worked out pretty well.
